Q: What does Vinofilia mean?

A: Actually, we made it up – but to us, it means “love of wine”!

Q: How can we get to Vinofilia?

A: You can fly into either San Diego or Tijuana International Airport. You will need a car to get to the ranch and to get around. Please print and follow the directions we will provide you once your reservation has been made. GPS works in Baja – sort of – but it will get you lost, taking you on an adventure of wrong turns and dead-ends. We also have a private car service available from San Diego if you’d like to take a luxury chauffeured trip!

Q: How far are you from the Tecate border?

A: Vinofilia is about an hour and a quarter from the Tecate border, in the heart of Baja’s famed Guadalupe Valley Wine Country. Approximately 50 miles.

Q: How far are you from the San Ysidro Border?

A: About 90 minutes from the San Ysidro Border. Approximately 60 miles.

Q: Do you have parking?

A: Absolutely, it’s free and directly in front of your accommodations.

Q: Is the parking secure?

A: Yes – the grounds are protected with gated entry and patrolled by the most cutting-edge guard dogs available – well, they’re very cute, if not that ferocious :)… and we also have security lights throughout the property.

Q: Is breakfast available?

A: You bet – we can provide a lovely in-room Continental Breakfast – just let us know when you make your reservation. Coffee, tea and purified water are always available in your room.

Q: Is wine tasting available?

A: Yes! We are happy to arrange for a private tour of some of the fabulous local wineries. We also have local wines available for you to enjoy on your private patio or in your room.

Q: Are there any snacks or beverages available in our room?

A: We have a selection of local wines, chilled beer, and sparkling water. Delicious local cheese and olive trays are available if you let us know in advance.

Q: Can you help us choose from all the restaurants and wineries?

A: Yes, we will send you our recommendations and assist you with reservations if you like. Many of the local business folks are good friends of ours and they will be happy to give you an extra warm welcome when we refer you.

Q: Can you arrange for meals to be catered or delivered to the cottage for us?

A: We would be delighted to arrange for that – just give us at least 24 hours’ notice.

Q: Can we bring our own food and beverages?

A: Of course! Your room has a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker with coffee and tea provided.

Q: Can we come and go as we please?

A: Please come and go at your leisure, exploring all that Baja and the Ruta del Vino has to offer.

Q: We know we want to go wine tasting, but are there any other activities?

A: We will be more than happy to direct you to all that the Valle de Guadalupe, Ensenada, and Baja have to offer! Horseback riding, private wine tours, tennis, in-room massage or spa treatments, sightseeing in Ensenada, the world-famous Bufadora at Punta Banda, or the beautiful Baja beaches are all great options.

Q: What if we want to stay an extra day?

A: This is Mexico. Everything is possible, yet it will depend upon availability!

Q: Do I need to bring any towels, sheets, or other items?

A: We supply you with all linens. However, if you plan on visiting our beautiful beaches, you will need to bring your own towels.
